Have you ever wondered how your fireplace comes to life?
At Barbas, we believe a fireplace is more than just a source of heat — it’s a personal interior feature, an extension of your style, and a source of atmosphere in your home. That’s why we make it personal. No mass production, but true craftsmanship — with love, care, and a lot of manual work. In this blog, we’ll take you on a journey through our factory in Bladel, just outside Eindhoven.
Everything under one roof
At Barbas, everything happens in one place: design, production, and our headquarters are all located in Bladel. That means short lines of communication, personal oversight, and craftsmanship at every step. Starting from 120 base models, we create fireplaces in thousands of combinations — all custom-made to suit your preferences and interior. And did you know that your name is linked to your fireplace from the very beginning? Literally — every work order carries your name.
Step 1: Pre-processing
As soon as your order comes in through the dealer, the journey begins. We translate your preferences into a work order with a barcode. It specifies exactly what is needed — from sheet steel to the smallest screw. During pre-processing, all parts are shaped (for example, bent) and welded together. It’s a precise process, because a solid foundation ensures a safe, durable fireplace that will bring you years of enjoyment.
Step 2: Coating
Next, the parts travel through a transport system to the coating department. Every piece is thoroughly washed and degreased — down to the tiniest corners. Then they are hand-sprayed to ensure every millimeter is perfectly coated. The parts then go into the oven, where the paint is baked on. This prevents unpleasant odors when the fireplace is first used and makes the coating highly resistant to scratches and bumps.
Step 3: Assembly
After painting, the components are ready for assembly. This is also done by hand — with an eye for detail. Our assemblers carefully put your fireplace together, install sealing cords, fit the interior, and ensure everything is perfectly aligned. Each fireplace becomes a small masterpiece of craftsmanship. Once it's finished, it is packed and shipped to the dealer within 24 hours. The dealer will then arrange for it to be installed in your home as quickly as possible.
